This very popular design originated in Montelupo, located outside of Florence, in the 17th century.
It was reproduced in Deruta in the 19th century and then Ubaldo Grazia (1887-1961) offered alternate fruit and color choices in the 20th century.
Both patterns “foglie e frutta ciliegie” and “foglie e frutta mirtilli” are derived from this pattern.
